This structure is written into the B2B Export Sales Contract from day one and is enforced automatically by the NaijaSwap escrow system. Read the full contract terms.
No. NaijaSwap does not require large advance payments for B2B export deals. The buyer only deposits funds into escrow when the contract is signed. The bulk of the payment (70–80%) is released to the seller only after they provide proof of shipment (B/L copy). The remaining 20–30% acts as a holdback to protect the buyer until inspection is complete.
A Bill of Lading (B/L) is a legal document issued by a shipping line (carrier) to the shipper. It serves three purposes:
On NaijaSwap, the B/L copy triggers the first major payment milestone (70–80%), making it the critical trust mechanism in the transaction.
Shipping and customs are handled according to the INCOTERM agreed in the contract:
NaijaSwap partners with verified freight forwarders and can assist with documentation (SONCAP, NAFDAC, phytosanitary certificates) through our Trade Desk.
